Pregnancy
From the fusion of two cells, through the phases of incredible growth and development, to bringing the tiny little life into this world, pregnancy is an amazing phase of a woman's life. From the date of conception to the birth of the baby the
pregnancy period is divided into 3 pregnancy stages. The 3 pregnancy stages are 1st, 2nd and 3rd trimester.
Most women are very familiar with the word trimester. A trimester is time duration of 3 months. But the most important thing about these 3
pregnancy stages is to know exactly how to take care of the baby and the expecting mother. In this section we are trying to provide the expecting mothers the crucial information required for their baby and their own health.
First trimester
The first trimester (0-12 weeks) will see your body undergoing many changes as it adjusts to your growing baby. This is the pregnancy stage when women will experience the early signs of
pregnancy such as missed period, swollen and tender breasts, tiredness, nausea, frequent urination and etc.
it is important to understand that those symptoms are normal and very common among pregnant women's in their first trimester of pregnancy. Most of these discomforts will go away as the
pregnancy progresses.
In this first
pregnancy stage or first trimester expectant mothers experiences a turbulent time. The actual prenatal care starts from this stage only.
Second trimester
Second trimester is that stage of
pregnancy when women get rid of all those discomforts which they experienced in first trimester of pregnancy. It is considered as the most enjoyable pregnancy stage spanning from 13-28 weeks. Pregnancy signs such as morning sickness, abdominal and low back pain are common in this stage of pregnancy.
Pregnant women will experience stretch marks and increasing belly size in this phase of pregnancy. Uterus will grow to the height of belly button making the pregnancy visible.
Third trimester
This is the last but most important stage of
pregnancy. As the fetus continues to grow, you can start planning your delivery. False labor contraction in the final stages of pregnancy can be little discomforting for the pregnant women.
As you near the end of pregnancy, hormones in your body cause breasts to increase even more in size, to prepare for breast feeding.
You can also experience leaking of a thick fluid (colostrums) from the
nipples. Colostrums the first milk for your baby, is a thick yellowish fluid that contains antibodies that protect babies from infections.
